Pastor Doug Schroeder
Pastor Doug Schroeder has had the joy of serving as Senior Pastor of Emmanuel since January 1981. His primary responsibilities are teaching at our worship services, shepherding our people and overseeing our staff, deacons, and ministries. Doug is an excellent Bible teacher who lives what he preaches. He also has an extensive Biblical counseling ministry in our church and community.
Doug trusted Christ as his Savior while in high school after friends shared the gospel with him and prayed for him. He graduated from Cedarville University in 1975 with a major in Bible and a minor in New Testament Greek. Before becoming pastor of Emmanuel, he served as a campus pastor under Church Extension Ministries on the campuses of Central Michigan University and Indiana University. His greatest education, however, has come through shepherding Emmanuel for over 30 years. Doug married his best friend, Kathy, and they have been happily married for 37 years. Doug and Kathy have two adult children and five grandchildren.
Pastor of Discipleship & Community Engagement
Craig joined Emmanuel’s pastoral team in 2019 and his passion for Jesus fuels us to live out the Gospel. He bleeds for the missional multiplication of God’s kingdom to impact this broken world! Prior to Emmanuel, he and his wife, Niki, devoted much of their ministry to church planting in Indiana and Ohio. That enthusiasm to see Jesus reflected throughout our community is evident in his preaching and leadership.
Craig is a devoted dad to three boys and is unabashed about his family’s love for all things Ohio State, even in Bloomington.
Craig brings a strong biblical education to his ministry, including a Master of Theology in Pastoral Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary. He naturally pairs strong doctrine with effective messages. He looks forward to meeting you Sunday morning!
University Ministry Director
Kevin and his wife Sara moved to Bloomington in 2019 as they joined the CCO Ministry at Indiana University. In partnership with Emmanuel, they seek to see a generation of college students transformed by the power of Jesus Christ and his Gospel. With this partnership Kevin serves as our University Ministry Director.
Kevin played baseball at UNC Pembroke and professionally. As Kevin’s baseball career ended he experienced a sense of emptiness. Through God’s provision he underwent a radical transformation in Jesus and now is on a lifelong journey of spreading His Good News!
Kevin and Sara enjoy working out and spending time with their son.
Colette Richardson has been diligently keeping the church office operating smoothly since 2000. She received a Associate of Business Administration from Huntington College in 1981. Colette has chosen to utilize her administrative talents at Emmanuel after serving at several high-level administrative positions in both the banking and publishing industries.
Colette accepted Christ into her life at a young age, but has drawn even nearer to God after some trials in her life which have helped her to better understand the Lord’s promise that He will never leave or forsake us. Colette enjoys being with family, especially spending time with her young daughter, Loralea.
Dale Brand joined the Emmanuel staff in 2008 as Facilities Manager after many years working as a master mechanic and also as owner of a disaster restoration business. He is an experienced electrician having learned the trade while serving with the 2nd Marine Air Wing, “Engineer Squadron” United States Marine Corps. He is responsible for all repairs, maintenance and cleaning of our facility and works alongside all ministries that take place at the church. Dale also serves as a deacon and as our Precept Bible Study Director.
Dale came to follow Christ at the age of 40 after realizing that he was a sinner in need of a Savior. He now seeks to study the Word of God and fellowship with others, while diligently sharing his faith. Dale and his wife Kristi have been married for 31 years, have one married adult daughter and one grandchild.
